  • Perform initial teardown of trucks, thoroughly inspect trucks, make note of any missing parts or labor, and notify manager immediately

  • Unload or assist in unloading material as required

  1. Fleet Manager
     

General Purpose: 

  • The Fleet Manager is responsible for the day to day management of Thompson Idealease Fleet. The Fleet Manager will reach business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites. This individual will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of Thompson Idealease.  Integrity, passion, and in-person presentational skills are essential for this role.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day to Day Management of Thompson Idealease Fleet.
  • Manage and lower running costs of the fleet.
  • Create a positive relationship with all customers.
  • Develop a Fleet Management System to allow us to identify true costs.
  • Become familiar with Navistar and Cummins Warranty process.
    • Develop and manage system to recognize all warranty failures, warranty claims and ensure recovery thru our service departments.
  • Ensure customer service and Maximize Customer Uptime.
  • Establish and Maintain relationships with all Thompson Companies and Departments to improve processes, drive down costs and ensure that our dollars are spent inner company when possible.
    • Review, Approve Repair orders and submits PO’s.
  • Manage outside repairs and over the road failures in a cost efficient and timely manner.
  • Manage breakdown process on the portal by keeping terminal instructions current.
  • Provide Reciprocal Service as defined by Idealnet policies for all Idealease breakdowns.
  • Review unit P&L’s regularly to identify unprofitable units and work with General Manager to determine course of action.
  • Handle day to day activities of the Rental Fleet.
    • Sign out and Sign in Rental Units.
    • Coordinate logistics of the rental units.
    • Qualify new Rental customers
    • Ensure compliance of all company policy and laws pertaining to Rental Units.
    • Ensure that all Rentals billing information is correct and sent to Admin.
  • Aid in the development of sales strategies to secure business
  • Assist in collections as needed
  • Safe guard company assets by maintaining strong internal controls.

  1. Parts Counter Representative
     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Informs customers of companion parts requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
  • Reviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock
  • Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
  • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary
  • Notifies all necessary parties when special order parts have been received
  • Pulls orders for delivery, making sure all parts are tagged with name and job number
  • Follows up on back-ordered parts and replenishes assigned inventory daily
  • Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required

  1. Parts Picker
  • We are seeking a hard-working and flexible Individual to join our team as a Parts Picker.  This is a daytime position, Monday through Friday.  Job duties consist of: being the liaison between the Parts Counter Representatives and our retail customers, our Service Technicians, and our Body Shop Technicians.  Computer literacy is necessary as is an ability to juggle multiple tasks at one time.  
     
  1. Service Advisor

General Purpose:

  • Serves as the main contact with truck dealer service department and the customer breakdown department.  Manages the numerous interactions required to affect specific repairs and reduce the downtown to enhance the customer’s experience.  Monitors and manages a high volume of all communication between a dealer service department, Thompson management/technical services, and a customer regarding specific repairs.  Keeps the customer informed about the status of each repair, and the estimated time to the next repair milestone.  When a repair is not meeting a customer’s expectations, determines if the situation warrants escalation to dealer or Thompson management.

 

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year’s technical truck/automotive or direct customer service experience.
  • Associate’s degree and at least 3 years technical truck/automotive or direct customer service experience.

OR

  • At least 5 years of technical truck/automotive and direct customer service experience.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with commercial truck/bus/diesel engine products
  • Familiarity with Thompson warranty process, customer warranty coverage’s, and the parts ordering process

  • Responsible for planning, implementing and directing the tire sales activities of Thompson, Truck & Trailer to achieve sales objectives.  Manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals.  Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the department's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve Customer satisfaction and sales potential. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.  Acts as advisor to sales team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.

 

Education & Experience Required:

  • May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Informs customers of companion parts requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
  • Reviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock
